Close of CPB Portal (Applications) on 15 December 2012, Promotion of Members in St John Portal (21 to 31 December)

posted Nov 30, 2012, 11:44 PM by Bek Jun Hao - ZSO

Dear teachers and officers,

Below is the email from CPB Committee at HQ level for your information and action.

This is a friendly reminder that the CPB Portal (Applications) will be closed on 15 December 2012, 2359 hours.  After which, all applications will be locked for the Zone CPB officers to look through the applications before recommending them for approval.  School will still be able to access the portal to print certificates, check records and statistics.

The promotion of members in St John Portal, a compulsory activity is to be done between 21st to 31st December 2012.  This will ensure that all 2012 records will be moved to 2013 before the applications can commence for the New Year.  The step-by-step guide for promotion of members is attached.

We hope this time round, schools will be more pro-active in working with the resources and manpower that you have to promote the members to the next level.  We would very much like to help in this area but looking at the system, the culture of the members that are grouped varies from school to school.  Hence, we have decided that schools will promote the members in the portal instead.  For the teachers in reading, the process to be done in the St John Portal is similar to how School Cockpit allocates students to their next year’s level/class.

When the current CPB system moves to the Integrated Portal in 2013, the process will be refined.  Details will be made known to you in due course.

Rest assured that promotion of members will not affect the tabulation of Corps Achievement Awards.  Hence, you do not have to delete any records.  Schools who have colleagues / officers who are in charge of CAA submission, please convey this message to them.

Please take note that all Secondary 4 / Year 4 students are to be moved to the level “Graduand” level.  After the release of the GCE ‘N(A)’ level examinations, schools can move selected students to Sec 5 level using the “Manage Students” module.

For other enquiries, please contact me via email at and I will try my best to answer them with regards to the promotion of members.  Currently, the module (promotion of members) is disabled and will only be open on 21st December 2012 (8.00am).
